A chilled place for lunch or dinner
James and White has recently changed its name from Reef Encounter. Apparently telling people they didn't sell scuba gear or what happened to the man-made Boscombe Reef became a bit tiresome. Owned by the same people, James and White is just up the hill from Boscombe Pier, in an ideal location with outside decking for the sunnier days.
The vibe is very chilled at James and White, not just in the ambiance but in the unpretentious nature of the food. The menu is a mix between American and British, with burgers, hanging skewers, cocktails and more. Pooches are very much welcome here, with the staff making a big fuss over all the good doggos who enter their establishment. Treats will be doled out, and maybe a sausage if they are exceptionally good.
