Overview

Whether you want to play golf, go for a picnic, spend a day with the kids exploring, or just go on a good dog walk, Beacon Country Park has it all.

There is a vantage point in the middle of the park atop a hill, where on a clear (and not so clear) day you can see Liverpool and its two cathedrals, the hills of Wales, and Blackpool's Tower and Big Dipper. Venture further and you'll find trees, a small stream, wild grassland, manicured pathways, and even a gruffalo.

Bins are scattered along the main pathways, with picnic benches at some of the grassy areas and benches at the vantage point. There are multiple car parks spread out across the park for easy access. The children's playgrounds are understandably dogs-on-lead areas, but these are clearly marked and everywhere else your pooch is free to roam. During the COVID-19 situation, they have made a touch-free scavenger hunt for the kids (and adults) to have fun with.

Something for all ages and fitness levels to enjoy. And your pooch will love it.
